Your information, handled like your mortgage: carefully.
This policy explains what this practice collects, why, and what happens to it — in plain language, as Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA) requires.
What is collected
When you request a callback, this site collects the details you type: your name, phone number, email address, the service you're asking about, and your preferred call time. When a mortgage file proceeds, additional information — income, employment, credit, and property documents — is collected directly from you with your consent, because lenders require it to underwrite a mortgage.
What it's used for
Callback details are used to contact you about your enquiry — nothing else. File documents are used to assess your application and to present it to lenders and mortgage insurers who may be able to fund it. Your information is never sold, and it is not used for marketing lists you didn't ask to join.
Who it's shared with
Only the parties a mortgage transaction actually requires: the lenders your file is presented to, mortgage default insurers where applicable, the credit bureau (with your written consent), and the brokerage of record, Real Mortgage Associates, whose regulatory obligations apply to every file.
Credit checks
Your credit report is pulled once, with your consent, and shared with prospective lenders as part of your application — this avoids multiple lender inquiries against your file.
How long it's kept
Brokerage record-keeping rules under FSRA require completed application records to be retained for the regulated period, after which they are securely destroyed. Callback requests that don't become files are deleted within twelve months.
Your rights
You may ask what information this practice holds about you, request a correction, or withdraw consent (which may limit the ability to continue a file). Contact amir.foroughi@rmabroker.ca for any privacy request, and you'll have a response within 30 days.
